Natalie is a skirt pattern designed for woven fabrics that features classic gored style lines.
The waistband has two options: a raised feature waistband that extends above the natural waist, or a classic plain waistband. The raised waistband has diagonal seams on the front and back that complement the angled seams and slash pockets on the skirt.
You can also choose your silhouette, with two styles of skirt included. Opt for the A-line silhouette in a medium-weight fabric, or bring out your swishy fabrics for the flared silhouette! There are two hem length options as well.
Natalie is a versatile wardrobe staple and a great showcase for your fave wovens.

Fabric
Natalie is designed for light to medium weight non-stretch wovens. Choose firmer fabrics for the A-line view, and drapey fabrics for the flared view. Sew in cotton chambray, cotton voile, linen, denim, and stable viscose/rayon. Suitable for directional prints (though these may take extra fabric).
Interfacing
Sizes 28 to 40: 1m (1 .1 yards) of lightweight woven fusible interfacing.
Sizes 42 to 52: 1.3m (1.4 yards) of lightweight woven fusible interfacing.
Notions
Thread. Fusing tape – buy pre-made fusing tape, or cut strips of fusible interfacing along grainline. These should be about 1.3cm (1/2”) wide.
Shorter view: 7 buttons (or snaps) with a diameter of 1.5cm (5/8”) to 1.9cm (3/4”).
Longer view: 8 buttons (or snaps) with a diameter of 1.5cm (5/8”) to 1.9cm (3/4”).
Fabric requirements
The fabric requirements do not allow for directional prints. Allow extra fabric if lengthening the garment, or cutting directional or large-scale prints.
Natalie is suitable for intermediate sewers, but confident beginners can sew this pattern too. For an easier sewing experience, pick a more stable fabric and the plain waistband view.
Available in sizes 28 - 52.
Our model wears a size 34, in the shorter hem length. Forget-me-not patterns are designed for a height of 5’6” (168cm), however our model here is 5'3" (160cm) so the skirt appears slightly longer on her.
The green skirt is viscose twill, and is the flared view, with raised waistband. It is styled with our Sylvie knit top in lightweight grey modal/linen blend knit.
The grey skirt is cotton velveteen, and is the A-line view, with plain waistband. It is styled with our Sylvie knit top in lilac merino knit.
The black skirt is viscose twill, and is the flared view, with raised waistband. It is styled with our Sylvie knit top in navy viscose jersey.
See our sizing page for our sizing charts and additional information.
Forget-me-not patterns are designed around an averagely curvy figure with a B-cup bust and a height of 5’6” (168cm).
If your body type differs from our measurements, do not worry! Depending on where the pattern is fitted, you may not need to worry about variations in figure. If needed, you are also able to grade between sizes to customise the fit to yourself. If in doubt, you should generally choose the size up from the size the chart indicates to ensure enough room in your garment. You'll find guidance in each individual pattern booklet as well.
We are working on expanding our sizing, which means all our new patterns go up to size 56, but some of our older patterns only go up to size 48 or 52.
Many of our patterns offer cup sizing in small, medium and full, but not all. Check the sizing section of each product page to see the size range and fit options offered.
